Sorry for not posting for some days, but I needed to warm up again, literally. It became really cold the last days and the media were publishing horror stories about a weather chaos starting on Friday. Actually, the weather wasn’t as bad as expected, at least here in Bonn. But the chaos still formed. Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy, I guess.
It was Friday afternoon when I left the Astronomy Institute to go home. The bus takes me home in less than 15 minutes usually. But this time, there was no bus. There was a traffic jam spread virtually over the whole city. After waiting ten minutes for the bus and watching the cars pass by in a ridiculously slow speed I decided to walk home, following the track the bus would take*.
There were cars everywhere. I was about twice as fast by foot than they were! Maybe 500 meters of the 3 kilometers free for cars to drive, 2.5 kilometers were jammed. By now I’ve found out why: a truck toppled over due to the strong winds on the autobahn. The road had to be closed, creating a traffic jam that spread into the city. Because of one truck!
Now I understand why there are always traffic jams in disaster movies. I’m afraid even a rather small city like Bonn couldn’t be evacuated fast. For example, I a meteor were to hit the city, even knowing it 24 hours ahead would probably not be enough time. Some crashes on the arterial roads and we are trapped. That has to be the reason why there are city dwellers that prefer off-road vehicles: they can flee besides the roads.
*I arrived at home about 40 minutes later. The bus did not catch up with me in that time…

Hihihi…schön.
Sowas hätte hier aber auch passieren können. Hier ist Berlin. Denn in Berlin gab es sehr wohl Schnee und es gab auch viele Unfälle und sogar Tote. Aber im Rheinland ist es doch eher milder.
Aber der Winter kommt ja eh immer “unangekündigt”. Ist ja auch eine Schweinerei, bei Kälte im November davon ausgehen zu müssen, dass es glatt wird und schneien könnte.

Brrr, Berlin hab ich im Winter immer als bitterkalt in Erinnerung. Hätte natürlich auch mal im Sommer dahin fahren können.

im Gegensatz zu:
Film in Kamera -> Foto machen -> Film voll machen -> Entwickeln -> Trocknen -> Einscannen -> Staub entfernen und bearbeiten -> ins Netz stellen.
Berlin ist wirklich immer saukalt im Winter. Dafür aber auch wesentlich schöner oftmals, weil im Umland natürlich alles super schön ist. Brandenburg umrahmt die Stadt ja und da findet man extrem viele schöne Flecken.
Aber ich zieh ja jetzt weg und werde mich im Wiesbaden niederlassen, daher werde ich diese Winter wohl kaum noch haben.
Und was das mit den Bildern machen angeht: ich bin kein Fotograf. Wäre ich einer, würde ich sicherlich die alte Methode bevorzugen, weil das einfach mehr mit “Können” zu tun hat. Jede Digicam nimmt einem doch das ganze technische ab. Ich wüßte z.B. nicht, was für eine Blende ich bräuchte oder wie lange etwas belichtet werden muss. Ich kann nur den Auslöser bedienen.
Das Wetterchaos haben wir derzeit in Lübeck. Es wird nicht gestreut, alles ist glatt, viele können bei dem Wetter auf einmal kein Auto mehr fahren. Verrückt!
